Tatacoa Desert

This desert in Colombia truly surprised us! When we think of a desert, we picture vast, dry sand plains without roads—freedom to drive wherever you can.

But Tatacoa was different, and no less impressive. Sand roads wound through the landscape, semi-soft but well-maintained. On the map, we saw countless riverbeds, now dry, but full of water in the rainy season.

The ultimate destination for nature and adventure lovers! This charming town, surrounded by stunning green mountains and countless waterfalls, is famous for its thermal baths, adrenaline-pumping activities, and the iconic “Swing at the End of the World”.

We found the Pailón del Diablo waterfall the most impressive! This massive waterfall stands about 80 meters tall, with water crashing down with immense force. You can see and feel the powerful wind it creates! To complete the final stretch of the hike, you’ll have to brave a refreshing cold shower—an experience you won’t forget!

Exploring the #chimborazo region!

At 6,263m, Chimborazo is Ecuador’s highest volcano – and due to Earth’s shape, it’s the farthest point from the planet’s center! 🏔️❄️ Surrounded by vicuñas, glaciers, and breathtaking views, it’s the ultimate Andes challenge.

The area is less known but no less impressive. Overlanding allows for exploring the surroundings at your own pace. With a 4x4, there is no need to plan all routes in advance – you drive and adapt to the conditions.

In the Netherlands we live close to the beach. But

In the Netherlands we live close to the beach. But here we can do some #beachdriving and live on the beach! #homeiswhereyouparkit and watch the beautiful sunset!

We love the beaches where you can drive on with the car. So great to explore different countries and are being able to do things that are not allowed at home but we really like!

We’re here to test! And we are really critical a

We’re here to test! And we are really critical about the build, the pro’s and the con’s.

After hot and cold days we can say we love the poptop! We don’t talk about the cons while driving, but only for living.
- a lot of space
- great ventilation
- a lot of daylight
- great interaction with the outside

We do have experience with a high roof, but we wouldn’t go back, if only for the ventilation!

COTOPAXI Tijd om de hoogte in te gaan! Het nation

COTOPAXI

Tijd om de hoogte in te gaan! Het nationaal park rondom Cotopaxi is al prachtig, en de gletsjertop die zich laat zien tussen de wolken door maakt het nog meer bijzonder. We rijden met de camper tot 4.580m, en beklimmen het onderste gedeelte tot aan het tweede Refugio op 4.864m.   De klim was pittig, zeker voor Anniek die al enkele dagen buikgriep heeft. Jerry besluit nog wat verder te klimmen richting de gletsjer, maar haalt het net niet vanwege de tijd. We lopen weer terug gaan richting de auto. Op de terug weg nemer we het steilere pad, dat bestaat uit erg los zand waardoor het meer gecontroleerd schuiven / glijden is dan lopen.   Als we naar beneden rijden snappen we waarom het vanaf boven leek dat iedereen in een file reed, de weg is namelijk zo slecht dat hard rijden niet te doen is. Wel konden we gelukkig wat harder rijden dan de meeste auto’s waardoor we veel inhalen. We snappen nog steeds niet hoe we dat op de heenweg niet gemerkt hebben. Tijdens de rit stuitten we plots op een vos die wel erg dichtbij komt, en eenmaal op de overnachtingsplek komen een aantal herten voorbij.

Often we prefer the backroads instead of the main

Often we prefer the backroads instead of the main roads. It takes you to the less seen sceneries and most of the time it is way nicer to drive!

Finding the roads is not always easy and you never know what is coming next. And that is part of the adventure!

Here we planned to drive a backroad, but unfortunately the road was washed away by a landslide. So we turned around and took a 1,5h detour which took us through this amazing scenery!

We like it when things are easy to use!

See how quick we can go to bed, and with a bed we mean a real bed!

As with everything we didn’t want to do any concession on comfort. It’s a 14cm cold foam matras on a slatted base., resulting is a bed with the same quality as at home. Especially when you spend longer periods in the camper, a good night rest is of utmost importance.

The size of the bed is 1,45m wide and 2,1m long.
